The students are busy studying for their upcoming exams. Maxxie introduces a new boyfriend, much to the jealously of Sketch whilst Jal wrestles with her pregnancy, overlooking the fact that others have secrets too. Jal eventually tells her family she is pregnant which is met with disapproval by her father, yet Jal challenges him over the fact he left her mother and is trying to invade in her life too. Her brothers comfort Jal, who needs support. Michelle is ignorant of this, wrapped up with the possibility of getting back with Tony, who is being polite and understanding. Michelle’s insistence on the girls communicating in Spanish means that when Jal admits she is pregnant through Spanish, Michelle does not originally understand. Cassie is no help either because of her developing dark side of her personality. Cassie knows both Chris and Jal are keeping secrets from one another, and begins to view them in a more pessimistic way. Jal heads for a musical audition at a prestigious college of arts, and performs well. However, when she returns home, she discovers Cassie looking anxious sitting on the table in the apartment. They both head to the hospital where it is revealed that Chris is suffering from severe subarachnoid haemorrhage, the same condition that killed his older brother, leaving Jal in tears at the hospital.
