The episode starts with the gang attending a nightclub. There it is revealed Sid and Michelle are a couple, much to the annoyance of Tony and Cassie, the latter attempts to persuade Tony that they should be a couple to get back at Sid and Michelle. Tony seems to disagree. Tony then takes ecstasy and parts of his old personality becomes prevalent. He confronts Sid and Michelle about their relationship before vomiting in the toilets. A girl deduces Tony may be having a panic attack, addressing Tony by his full name and then leaves before he could ask her who she was. Later, Tony goes for an interview at a university where he see’s the provocative, outspoken girl who had talked to him in the toilets. Throughout the day she helps him overcome some of the physical issues that he has been struggling with since the accident, such as an inability to run or swim, and eventually his sexual inadequacy by having passionate sex in a dormitory. Afterwards, a reinvigorated Tony goes back to the same nightclub at the start of the episode and interupts Sid and Michelle having sex in the toilets. Tony tells them that their relationship is “wrong” and exits the club, leaving Sid and Michelle doubting their relationship. The episode is a visual metaphor for several elements of Jungian psychology and was also directed by Harry Enfield. It possible the provocative girl in question is part of Tony’s subconscious mind which represents his old personality. Also, the episode is interesting in that Tony views a lecturer with third degree burns on his face whilst on the train. Yet at the university, the lecturer is shown to have no facial injuries or memory of his encounter with Tony. Therefore it is possible the trip to the university never happened or was possibly a dream for the audience see Tony wake up twice in the episode.
