Six months on and Tony is still in recovery from his head injuries sustained in the last series’ finale. Tony reveals he is suffering from subdural hematoma leading to his learning difficulties, amnesia and personality changes. This drives his mother into depression, forces his father to become more tolerable and propels Effy as Tony’s guardian, a role reversal from the last series. Meanwhile, everyone is trying to adjust. Maxxie struggles with the homophobic youths on his estate and for his dad’s approval to become a dancer and leaves college to pursue his dreams. Meanwhile, everyone wants to audition for the School Musical. Maxxie tries to comfort Tony as he becomes scared of the world and angry at himself for not recovering yet. Sid refuses to meet Tony because of his unusual vulnerablity, despite being with him when Tony was in a coma. Sid also struggles to come to terms with Cassie’s move to Elgin, thus breaking up their relationship. Michelle has become promiscuous in an attempt to forget about Tony. Later at a party, Tony attends with Effy and eventually remembers his sexual exploits with Abigal and then overhears Michelle and Sid talking about Tony’s accident and the aftermath outside, it is revealed Michelle only went to see him once. But when Tony’s presence is revealed, he states he is unable to remember them. The episode ends with Maxxie helping Tony write his own name.
