Perhaps knowing this from his own encounters with Abigail, Tony sends Michelle sensitive pictures of Abi from Josh’s phone, making her believe he is crazy and dumping him. Josh reappears in “Effy” with a vendetta against Tony. Possibly knowing how much Tony loves his sister, he takes her hostage (it is evident that she is not aware of this) and overdoses her on drugs. When Tony arrives, Josh tells him that the only way that they will call an ambulance for her is if Tony has sex with Effy.
